The FlipCrop's story starts in 2020, when our founder, college-bound student Ava Saferstein, found herself constantly playing a game of catch-up when it came to dressing for her day. Between AP classes, exam prep, an intense competitive volleyball schedule, and trying to maintain a social life, packing for a full day of everything from studying to athletics to unwinding was an extra stress she didn't need.
It was out of this first rough prototype that FlipCrop was created. Ava's design for a t-shirt that easily converted into a crop top instantly doubled the possibilities of a single outfit and reduced the time spent planning for her day. The style was an instant hit with her peers and Ava knew she had an idea worth investing her time and energy into.
Despite being a reluctant entrepreneur, Ava decided the FlipCrop design was too useful (and too cute) not share with the world. She filed for a patent and got to work on a marketplace to sell the FlipCrop.
